Arbor Day, also known as Tree Planting Day, is a special day dedicated to the importance of trees and the act of planting them. The concept of Arbor Day originated in the United States in the 19th century. It was first proposed by J. Sterling Morton, a journalist and politician, who believed in the importance of trees for environmental sustainability. The first Arbor Day was celebrated in Nebraska on April 10, 1872, with the planting of over one million trees. Since then, Arbor Day has become an annual event celebrated worldwide.
