Any inner journeys should allow you to find greater significance, beauty, and meaning in life as you know it now.

Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity of the Soul

One of the attitudes detrimental to good health is that of self-condemnation, or dislike of the self. Such attitudes are unfortunately sometimes fostered by parents, schools, and religions. Feelings of self-worth, self-esteem, and pleasure with one's abilities promote feelings of well-being, health, and exuberance.

The Way Toward Health

One belief can be dependent upon many others, each generating its own emotion and imaginative reality. The belief in illness itself depends upon a belief in human unworthiness, guilt and imperfection, for example.

The Nature of Personal Reality

In your realm of reality, there is no real freedom but the freedom of ideas, and there is no real bondage except for the bondage of ideas, for your ideas form your private and mass reality.

The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events

Imagination and emotions are the most concentrated forms of energy that you possess as physical creatures. Any strong emotion carries within it far more energy than, say, that required to send a rocket to the moon.

The Nature of Personal Reality

Each thought or emotion exists as an electromagnetic energy unit or as a combination of these under certain conditions, and often with the help of coordinate points, they emerge into the building blocks of physical matter.

The Seth Material

Do not follow those who tell you that you must do penance, in whatever form. Trust instead the spontaneity of your own being and the life that is your own. If you do not like where you are, then examine those beliefs that you have. Bring them out into the open. There is nothing within yourself to fear.

The Nature of Personal Reality

When you say: “I want to find myself,” you usually take it for granted that there is a completed, done, finished version of yourself that you have mislaid somewhere. When you think of finding God, you often think in the same terms. Now you are “around yourself” all of the time. You are ever becoming yourself...Both God and the psyche are constantly expanding — unutterable, and always becoming.

Nature of the Psyche

It is vital that you realize you are working with beliefs in your mind — that the real work is done there in the mind — and not look for immediate physical results. They will follow as surely and certainly as the "bad" results followed, and this must be a belief: that the good results will come. But the real work is done in the mind.

The Nature of Personal Reality

In larger terms one of my most important messages is simply this: "You are a multidimensional personality, and within you lies all the knowledge about yourself, your challenges and problems, that you will ever need to know... The greatest gift I can give you is to reaffirm the integrity of your own being.

The Nature of Personal Reality

It is erroneous to believe that spontaneity and discipline are mere opposites. Instead, true discipline is the result of true spontaneity. Value fulfillment of each and every element in life relies upon those spontaneous processes, and at their source is the basic affirmative love and acceptance of the self, the universe, and life's conditions.

The Way Toward Health

A devil is a superlative hallucination. The hallucination is created out of fear and of restriction. The devil idea is merely the mass projection of certain fears - mass in that it is produced by many people, but also limited in that there have always been those who rejected this principle. Devils and demons have no objective existence. They have always represented portions of mankind's own psychological reality that to some extent he had not assimilated but in a schizophrenic kind of expression projected instead outward from himself. If you believe in demons you will meet them — in this life as enemies, and in other realms of consciousness as devils or "evil spirits."

The world as you see it is a reflection of what you are, a reflection not in glass but in three dimensional reality. You project your thoughts, feelings, and expectations outward, then you perceive them as the outside reality. When it seems to you that others are observing you, you are observing yourself from the standpoint of your own projections.

The Nature of Personal Reality

A feeling of self-approval is absolutely necessary for any true sense of well-being; it is not virtuous in any way to put yourself down, or to punish yourself, because you do not feel you have lived up to your best behavior at any given time.

The Way Toward Health

The individual is hardly at the mercy of past events, for he changes them constantly. He is hardly at the mercy of future events, for he changes these not only before but after their happening. The past is as real as the future, no more or no less. For the past exists only as a pattern of electromagnetic currents within the mind and brain, and these constantly change. An individual's future actions are not dependent upon a concrete finished past, for such a past never existed.

The Seth Material

Your feelings are as natural a part of the environment as trees are. They have a great effect upon the weather...Your feelings have electromagnetic realities that rise outward, affecting the atmosphere itself.

The Nature of Personal Reality

Value fulfillment is a psychological and physical propensity that exists in each unit of consciousness, propelling it toward its own greatest fulfillment in such a way that its individual fulfillment also adds to the best possible development on the part of each other such unit of consciousness.

The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events

The soul or entity is itself the most highly motivated, most highly energized, and most potent consciousness-unit known in any universe... The soul is an open spiritual system, a powerhouse of creativity that shoots out in all directions.

Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity of the Soul

Do not personally give any more conscious consideration to events that you do not want to happen. Any such concentration, to whatever degree, ties you in with those probabilities, so concentrate upon what you want.

Dreams, Evolution and Value Fulfillment

Initially, the world was a dream, and what you think of as waking consciousness was the dreaming consciousness. In that regard the earth's entire environment was built mentally, atom by conscious atom—each atom being initially formed by units of consciousness.

Dreams, Evolution and Value Fulfillment

To "let go" is to trust the spontaneity of your own being, to trust your own energy and power and strength, and to abandon yourself to the energy of your own life. The word "abandon" itself may strike some readers as particularly strong, but each element of nature abandons itself to the life form. So does each atom of your body. To abandon yourself, then, to the power of your own life, is to rely upon the great forces within and yet beyond nature that gave birth to the universe and to you. One of the very first steps toward mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health is precisely that kind of abandonment, that kind of acceptance and affirmation.

The Way Toward Health

Man's "evil" exists because of his misunderstanding of his own ideals, because of the gap that seems to exist between the ideal and its actualization. Evil actions, in other words, are the result of ignorance and misunderstanding. Evil is not a force in itself.

Dreams, Evolution and Value Fulfillment

It is imperative, for any peace of mind, that you believe in that existence of man’s innate good intent. That intent may be confused, poorly executed, tangled amid conflicts of beliefs, strangled by the bloody hands of murders and wars — and yet no man or woman ever loses it. That represents the hope of the species, and it has ever remained lit, like a bright light within each member of the species; and that good intent is handed down through the generations. It is far more potent, that illumination, than any hates or national grudges that may also be passed along.

Nature of the Psyche

Attending to the life that you have with love, beginning "where you are," will best allow you such a feeling for your own meaning. What do I mean by such attention? Attention to the moment as it is presented. Attention to the table of rich reality as it appears before you. Attention to the kind of person you are, and to the loving appreciation of your own uniqueness. To attend to your life in such a fashion brings you into a clearer communication with the inner action of your own existence.

Dreams, Evolution and Value Fulfillment

The state of grace is a condition in which all growth is effortless, a transparent, joyful acquiescence that is a ground requirement of all existence...You were born into a state of grace. It is impossible for you to leave it. You will die in a state of grace whether or not special words are spoken for you, or water or oil is poured upon your head. You share this blessing with the animals and all other living things. You cannot "fall out of" grace, nor can it be taken from you.

The Nature of Personal Reality

On some occasions long-term illnesses are resolved suddenly through a dream. However, in most cases dreams prevent such chronic illnesses, providing through small therapeutics a constant series of minor but important personal revelations. That is, dreams are the best preventative medicine.

Nature of the Psyche

Life is not given by the parent, but through the parent — by LIFE itself, or All That Is,  and “with no strings attached.”...It konws itself to be indeed a beloved child of the universe, both acient and young at once, with an identity far beyond the annals of time.

The Way Toward Health

Life and death are but two faces of your eternal, ever-changing existence. Feel and appreciate the joy of your own being. You have lived before, and will again, and your new life, in your terms, springs out of the old, and is growing in the old and contained within it as the seed is already contained within the flower.

The Nature of Personal Reality

As long as you believe that violence must be met with violence you court it and its consequences. On individual terms, your own body and mind become die battleground, as does the physical body of the earth in mass terms.

The Nature of Personal Reality

The inoculations themselves do little good overall, and they can be potentially dangerous, particularly when they are given to prevent an epidemic which has not in fact occurred. They may have specific value, but overall they are detrimental, confusing bodily mechanisms and setting off other biological reactions that might not show up for some time.

The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events

Love, as it is often experienced, allows an individual to take his sense of self-worth from another for a time, and to at least momentarily let the other's belief in his goodness supersede his own beliefs in lack of worth. Again, I make a distinction between this and a greater love in which two individuals, knowing their own worth, are able to give and to receive.

The Nature of Personal Reality

You make your own reality. There is no other rule. Knowing this is the secret of creativity.Your entire physical environment is the materialization of your beliefs. Your sense of joy, sorrow, health or illness — all of these are also caused by your beliefs.

The Nature of Personal Reality

When you do not know what to do, relax and tell yourself that other portions of yourself do know; they will take over. Give yourself some rest. Remind yourself that in many ways you are a very successful  person as you are. Success does not necessarily involve great intellect or great position or great wealth; it has to do with inner integrity. Remember that.

Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity of the Soul

Thoughts and beliefs do indeed bring about physical alterations. They can even — and often do — change genetic messages. There are diseases that people believe are inherited, carried from one generation to another by a faulty genetic communication. Obviously, many people with, for example, a genetic heritage of arthritis do not come down with the disease themselves, while others indeed are so afflicted. The difference is one of belief.

The Way Toward Health

The suggestion that smoking will give you cancer is far more dangerous than the physical effects of smoking, and can give cancer to who people wrho might otherwise not be so affected. The various unfortunate effects that seem to be caused by smoking are not caused by the cigarettes so much, as by those psychic habits which cause a personality to seek security within such habitual patterns that become compulsive. When the inner patterns are broken the effects cease.

The Early Sessions-Book 3 of The Seth Material

A cure of any kind will never depend upon any given treatment. It will in all cases depend upon the belief on the part of the sufferer that he can be cured. It will depend upon his desire to be cured. It will depend upon the strength of the purpose that an illness serves. It will depend upon, in the last analysis, the individual's own ability to mobilize his own energies, for only these will effect a cure. Any physician of any kind can only help a sufferer mobilize these energies and direct them.

The Early Sessions-Book 4 of The Seth Material

An illness is a failure to solve a mental or psychological problem in the correct manner. As long as the illness continues the problem remains unsolved, and a vicious circle is maintained because of this unwholesome balance. The sufferer focuses upon the illness, therefore avoiding his task of functioning upon the problem. The energy that would be used to solve the problem instead is spent maintaining the illness. It is therefore necessary that an attempt be made as soon as possible to solve the problem, which of course must first be discovered by the ego, which has avoided it.

The Early Sessions-Book 4 of The Seth Material

Illness and suffering are not thrust upon you by God, or by All That Is, or by an outside agency. They are a byproduct of the learning process, created by you, in themselves quite neutral…Illness and suffering are the results of the misdirection of creative energy. Everyone within your system is learning to handle this creative energy; and since you are still in the process of doing so, you willoften misdirect it. The resulting snarl in activities automatically brings you back to inner questions.

The "Unknown" Reality Vol.2

One of the greatest detriments to mental and physical well-being is the unfortunate belief that any unfavorable situation is bound to get worse instead of better. That concept holds that any illness will worsen, any war will lead to destruction, that any and all known dangers will be encountered, and basically that the end result of mankind's existence is extinction. All of those beliefs impede mental and physical health, erode the individual's sense of joy and natural safety, and force the individual to feel like an unfortunate victim of exterior events that seem to happen despite his own will or intent.

The Way Toward Health

You are what you think, not what you eat — and to a large extent what you think about what you eat is far more important. What you think about your body, health, and illness will determine how your food is used.

The Nature of Personal Reality

You must be aware of the contents of your own reasoning mind. Find the ambiguities. Regardless of the nature of your beliefs they are indeed made flesh and material. The miracle of your being cannot escape itself. Your thoughts blossom into events. If you think the world is evil, you will meet with events that seem evil. There are no accidents in cosmic terms, or in terms of the world as you know it. Your beliefs grow as surely in time and space as flowers do.

The Nature of Personal Realit

All creativity and consciousness is born in the quality of play, as opposed to work. All creativity is basically joyful. It is play in the highest sense of the term, and it is always alive with motion.Play is, in fact, one of the most practical methods of survival, both individually and for the species. Within its framework lie the secrets of creativity, and within the secrets of creativity lie the secrets of being.

The "Unknown" Reality Vol.2

No chance encounter of physical elements alone, under any circumstances, could produce consciousness — or the conditions that would then make consciousness possible. Consciousness formed matter. Each atom and molecule has its own consciousness. Consciousness and matter and energy are one, but consciousness initiates the transformation of energy into matter.

Dreams, Evolution and Value Fulfillment

Again we return to those emotional attitudes and ideas that automatically promote health and healing. Each individual is a good person, an individiialized portion of universal energy itself. Each person is meant to express his or her own characteristics ancl abilities. Life means energy, power, and expression. Those beliefs, if taught early enough, would form the most effective system of preventative medicine ever known.

The Way Toward Health

Living is easy. It is safe and reliable because it is easy.

Dreams, Evolution and Value Fulfillment

Each emotion and thought has its own electromagnetic reality, completely unique. Each thought and emotion spontaneously exists as a simple or complex electromagnetic unit. The electromagnetic energy units(EE units)are formed spontaneously from the electromagnetic reality of feelings emitted from each consciousness, as, for example, breath automatically goes out from the physical body. EE units are, then, emanations from consciousness.

Telepathy is the communication of thoughts or emotions between minds, regardless of distance. You are a sender and a receiver. Because ideas have an electromagnetic reality, beliefs, because of their intensity, radiate strongly. Telepathy belongs to the inner senses. It operates constantly at a subconscious level, as a basis for all language and communication. Without telepathy no language would be intelligible.

The power of the universe is a personal one. When your intent is clear, events fall into place, from the most minute to the most momentous, that bring your desire to pass.

Poor health is indeed caused mainly by habitual destructive thought patterns which directly affect the physical system, because of the particular range within the electromagnetic system in which they fall. The bad health does not occur first, resulting in unhealthy thoughts. It is indeed the other way around. For these thoughts set up charges that oftentimes cannot be used effectively by the physical organism, and when excesses of such charges occur an illness develops...Illnesses must be treated primarily by changing the basic mental habits, for unless this is done the trouble will erupt time and time again in different guises.

The Early Sessions-Book 4 of The Seth Material

Your ideas about your own health are even more important than those steps you take to promote it.
