Our Will is Wild and Unreliable
Guard yourselves against sensualism, for it surely leads to the path of evil.
Your own will becomes trustworthy only when you have attained Arhatship."

Commentary: Our will is wild and unreliable
It is mentioned that our will is like a wild horse which is unruly, unrestricted, and unreliable because it is keen on chasing the five desires and six media of sensation. To a cultivator, the problems arising from sexuality is the most serious since they are the root of cyclic rebirth.
Why arhats’ will is considered reliable? It’s because they have overcome the hindrance of afflictions and false tenet of permanent personality, and they will not mistake the body for the true self. They contemplate the body of five skandhas as empty so that there will arise no delusion of conception or delusion of thoughts such as greed, hatred, ignorance, and different kinds of wrong views. Unlike secular people, Arhats will not treat the body as real or commit unwholesome deeds for it.
However, arhats still have attachment to the Dharma; they have yet to break through the delusion of boundless phenomena of the world and the delusion arising from primal ignorance. Therefore their wisdom is not perfected yet. Delusion of boundless phenomena refers to the obstacles which prevent bodhisattvas from relieving sentient beings. To fulfil such a mission, bodhisattvas have to be proficient in boundless number of dharma methods to break through such obstacles. As for the delusion arising from primal ignorance, it is a kind of obstacle which can shadow the truth of the Middle Way such that the true nature of the world cannot be understood. If one can completely break through the delusion arising from primal ignorance, one will attain Buddhahood. However, these two kinds of delusion have yet to be overcome by bodhisattvas, needless to say arhats!
