般若为导，净土为归 

Prajna as Guide, you shall see Pure Land as your Destination

按照“一行三昧”来坐禅念佛、行禅念佛是非常殊胜的。这也不是师父的发明，是从祖师大德那里接过来的修行方法。具体地讲，是四祖道信大师在《入道安心要方便法门》中传授下来的修行方法。

Sitting meditation and Chanting Buddha’s name or Walking meditation and Chanting Buddha’s name are extraordinary if you do them according to Ekavyuha-Samadhi. It is not a method invented by me but one that passed down from honorable patriarchs, specifically, from the Fourth Patriarch Daoxin’s book “Expedient Dharma Method to Enter the Path and Set the Mind”.

博山正觉寺主张“般若为导，净土为归。”般若就是智慧。修行首先要祛烦恼开智慧，这是修行的最低标准和近期目标。如果修行来修行去，烦恼越来越增加，那说明修行不得法。大家按这个方法来修，烦恼会逐渐地减少，智慧会逐渐地增加，最后开智慧，开悟了。

Boshan Zhengjue Monastery advocates “Guided by Prajna, you shall see Pure Land as your final destination.” Prajna means wisdom. The priority of Buddhist practice is to eliminate afflictions and enlighten wisdom which is the minimum standard and short-term goal. If your afflictions increase as you cultivate, it means you have not found the right path. Using the method I instruct you, your afflictions will gradually decrease, and your wisdom gradually increase until you finally get enlightened.

当然师父希望大家这一生这一世都能开悟，顿悟成佛、明心见性。就是开不了悟也没关系，你也种下开悟的因了，等以后机缘成熟，说不定哪一世就开悟了。

I certainly hope all of you can attain your Buddhahood and witness your true nature this life. But it does not matter if you cannot attain your enlightenment, at least you have planted the root of enlightenment, and you will get enlightened when time is ripe in your future life.
